Thanks for doing this. Like I said on the previous thread, people like Petar they do a great job, but I think (If possible) it should be nice to have some distributed instances, like in invidious where when one fails other instance could be redirected. Matheus.

True, there should ideally be some balancer/fallback for all instances

is it trivial to fork the editor?

All the source code is open-source, so you're more than welcome to! https://github.com/dlang-tour/core

Imperatorn can we temporarily set this as the official thing, since it seems like it will take a little more until the official one works again? (this should only be done if you have some kind of fixed pricing with azure and are not billed per X amount of resources, since your bill could explode)

I am working on a long-term replacement (so that we won't need
to bother Jan and everyone on the team, will be able to assist
if needed), that will be hosted in DLF-owned Hetzner Cloud
account, but I was hoping we can extend the life the current
server just a bit more, so I can have more time set things up
 in a good way (edited)

It's ok. Until the normal one is up again. I have fixed pricing on it.

If anything I could send you some $$ to help (if needed) through PayPal. Just let me know. Matheus.

Thanks, that's very generous of you. For now it's fine, but if there's a need I'll reach out 🎂

Community services should be hosted by maintainers, not by random people, security, privacy and control are very important

It's been almost 1 month. This situation affects those who are new to D, and I also suffer from not being able to show a code to someone. Can we find a solution that will not leave us needing 3rd party applications? I have a 4-core unlimited ARM server in the Frankfurt location, and I can allocate 8 GB of memory for this purpose. DLF should really get this up again. I am changing jobs so I had to take it down before I left unfortunately.

We have a Hetzner account where we can spin up the server. That's not an issue. I know that Petar wanted to make changes of some kind to the Tour's architecture or something before deploying it there. He'll have to be the one to update you on the details for that, though. If I don't hear any updates in the next couple of days, I'll see if I can get someone can spin up a temporary instance.

Do it then, better than an offline page for new users

So that's the problem then.. it _could_ be up, but you decided not to because you have plan for an update? I don't think that's the wise way to handle this situation
