reply Suliman <evermind live.ru> writes:
Hello!
I asked my friend Svetlana Kopilova (designer from Russian Space
System) to create few logos for dconf 2019 in London. If you will
like them you will free to use it. If no, I will ask her about
new ideas.

for 17 years I think London will make a really great city for the conference, but I feel a bit sad that people associate London and the UK with the royal family who have a number of buffoons amongst them and do not represent the UK or Londoners at all :-( Sorry to fans of the royals. What I personally love about London is its tremendous history and the buildings that go with it, combined with the people from all over the world with their diverse languages, clothes, complexions, and restaurants of so many diverse cuisines. It is a creative powerhouse and full of energy and dynamism. Still, I left it, but that's another story ;-)

That was my initial reaction as well. I tried to see the crown as a reference to chess but it did not work. :p Ali

suggests power or movement (like the last dconf logo [1]) would be better. [1] https://i2.wp.com/dlang.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/dconf.jpg?resize=200%2C200

I think 3_2 would work great as the "D" in "DConf" for the t-shirts. Can I get a copy of it in SVG format? If so, I can see about incorporating it into the design.

Maybe a catchy phrase like "Time for some D" as a play on words of "Time for some tea"

This is probably the best looking logo, even better than the official D logo [1]. [1] https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/24/D_Programming_Language_logo.svg/1200px-D_Programming_Language_logo.svg.png

I thought https://dlang.org/images/dlogo.svg is the official D logo. May be the dlang.org needs update with the new artwork?

Nice! I second the voices of folks who prefer buildings to royalty (also speaking as a former Londoner). Also, it may be worth confirming there are no constraints on use of images of famous buildings like Big Ben etc. (it's possible there are some kinds of trademark or other issues if it's used in iconography, see e.g. https://www.fieldfisher.com/publications/2016/05/the-london-skyline-an-ip-view).
