most of which were from Australia (100 or so from the UK last month), but that'd
be from only about 3 addresses.

Can you do a trawl by poster, see who else is a total gasbag?

That's going to skew things though, because of ISPs like AOL. One post can be from one IP, and another from a completely other one. And, more, AOL is very popular in America - it's possible that the number for America is much higher than it should be. Not that there's anything you can do about that. -[Unknown]

I dont believe that there are that many users in
Australia, especially on this NG.

There's normally two per IP. One is used as an alternative. Of course sometimes the IP changes there address as well.

Often it is, and even on DSL this happens. It is caused by ISPs that use DHCP (dynamically assigned IP addresses) which is virtually all of them. Usually you have to pay extra to get what is called a "static" IP - one that does not change. My IP, as an example, changes about every three days. If I were to change my router from keep alive to "when needed", it would probably change every few hours. -[Unknown]
