That's a weird release!
It's an emergency release. My opinion was that that bug was so severe that it needed to be dealt with immediately. Think of it as a product recall for 2.027.

It's appropriate for this time of year, I guess. Turns out there's a lot of easter eggs in that release... It's not just one bugfix. By looking through the source, I discovered it has a couple of new intrinsics, for example. Happy hunting!
