I like the title, very strong. And the cover illustration is red enough :-) I'll probably write a review in my language when possible. Bye, bearophile

What language would that be? Or do you mean your blog?

Great job. Hope to get one soon :) But why is the version in amazon.co.uk that much expensive? 39.99£ converted to dollars it becomes 65$. I was thinking about pre-ordering the book so I went to amazon.co.uk (since I live in Portugal it's better to order from around here or it migth get stuck in customs for a few days).

The first programming book I'll buy :) 500 pages.. is that normal for programming books? Any relation to a stable D2?

What he's not telling you is that the pages are only 10cm square ;)

That's just an estimate.
When will estimate become an exact value?Any relation to a stable D2?
Well, one begets the other.
It'll be quite sad if whatever the final multi-threading scheme D2 uses doesn't have a vetting period for the community to give some kind of feedback. As far as I can tell, what we have now is about all we'll get unless something magical happens. (I think the next dmd release will include massive fencing, but I don't think anything else is planned)

Roughly, yea. Most of the ones on my bookshelf range from 300 to 1000 pages.
