I tried the web interface with an iPod, it's unusable. Anyone know of an iPod app that functions well as a decent newsgroup reader?

Ack, I found that unusable on the small screen.

Usually, a quick double tap on the subject area is enough for me to read the subjects and see the threads. Once reading a message from a thread, the list at the bottom is handy. The most annoying part is retuping my name/email every time.

NewsTap looks good. I just played with it 5 minutes though, and with the lite version which is limited to one newsgroup. -- Michel Fortin michel.fortin michelf.com http://michelf.com/

The user reviews of it were rather awful (!).

It's greatest selling point is that it's the only one. However, I really don't think it's all that bad considering the screen real estate available. There's even a way to view the message threading tree, though the presentation is a tad confusing (to me anyway). I figured it was worth the few bucks to be able to read news while walking the dog or whatever. Maybe now that the iPad is out, someone will make a better one.

I was surprised to find out that the digitalmars.com site is actually readable on the ipod.

That's interesting, given there's supposed to be 75,000 or so apps.

Most people I talk to these days have never even heard of Usenet though. Also, 50,000 of those apps are flashlights. :-)
