Most likely it will still be relevant 5-10 years from now. I'm pretty sure same thing could happen if the languages were Java and C++. "Do you know Java?" "I know C++."...

I think you guys are missing the joke. Question: You know C++? (interpreted as a programming question, what's the result of C++) Answer: is it D? -Steve

Finally! Andrei

I did all interview for my current job in D. I like how that comic can be understood in different ways, this is smart and funny.

No, I didn't miss the joke, but I was tyring to say that in 5-10 years we'll still be asking "Do you know C++?" instead of "Do you know D?". At the moment nobody is hiring D programmers. Besides, if D was as popular as Java or C++, then the joke wouldn't be as funny. --089e013a27723272f404d98ecf46 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr"><div class=3D"gmail_extra"><div class=3D"gmail_quote">On T= hu, Apr 4, 2013 at 2:24 PM, Steven Schveighoffer <span dir=3D"ltr"><<a h= ref=3D"mailto:schveiguy yahoo.com" target=3D"_blank">schveiguy yahoo.com</a=

I think you missed the joke too, but my response wasn't to you, it was to Jesse and Jacob. I think it's even possible the comic's author never heard of D. -Steve
