c++.idde - Debugger problem with XP

During debugging sessions I often want to halt program execution.
Therefore I used the Break-Function of the debugger.

But since I'm working with XP this feature doesn't seem to work anymore.
There is no reaction to my clicking on Break.

Does anyone have an idea what's going wrong?
