c++.dos - Hard disk controller depending on system timer
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello. I heard that hard disk controller depends a lot on the 08h = interrupt timer. I heard this from a book for programming games in = real-mode. I am not sure weather hard disk controllers depend on the = 08h timer while the CPU is in protected-mode. I don't want to risk my = hard disk for just a low-level game. Can any one tell me weather hard disk really depends on 08h timer while = the CPU is in protected-mode? Nov 23 2001
